Call for Research / Education Abstracts is NOW CLOSED

  • Peer Review: abstracts will be peer-reviewed for oral presentations (mini-sessions or SIG education sessions) and poster presentations, and may be accepted, conditionally accepted (according to reviewers' comments) or rejected.
  • Authors will be informed of acceptance no later than March 31, 2020. Oral and poster presenters must register for the conference no later than April 30, 2020.
  • Presentations (for oral and poster sessions) will occur on May 22 and 23. The specific date and time is dependent upon the number of abstracts accepted. Presenters will be advised of their scheduled presentation times.
  • Concurrent mini-sessions will be 20 minutes in duration (15 minute presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A). Topics applicable to contemporary pharmacy education and research are of interest, including curricular development; innovations in teaching; learning and assessment; educational scholarship; experiential education; admissions; scholarly inquiries; faculty-led pharmacy practice innovations; and findings from educational research.
  • Concurrent SIG education sessions will be 20 minutes in duration (15-minute presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A) and will be presented under the following ten AFPC SIGs: 
  • 1. Educational Assessment
  • 2. Program Evaluation
  • 3. Experiential Education (PEP-C)
  • 4. Medicinal Chemistry
  • 5. Skills Lab
  • 6. Social and Administrative Pharmacy
  • 7. Informatics
  • 8. Truth & Reconciliation
  • 9. Self-Care Therapeutics & Minor Ailments
  • 10. Professionalism
  • AFPC Educational Scholarship Poster Award (ESPA): this new faculty award for 2020 will recognize the best innovative and effective educational scholarship poster presented at the AFPC annual conference. To be eligible, authors must indicate that their poster is to be considered for the ESPA when submitting the abstract (oral abstracts will also be considered, if the author wishes to also present a poster).
  • French presentations: posters and oral session presentations can be in French or English. If a presentation will be in French, the author must also submit an English abstract. Oral presentation slides must be in English or bilingual. Note that simultaneous translation will not be available at CPERC.
  • AFPC does not assume responsibility for any conference attendance or registration costs for oral or poster presenters.
  • Standard audiovisual equipment (LCD projector, laptop, screen and podium with microphone) will be provided. Presenters will be required to have their presentation on a memory stick.
  • ​Poster boards will be available.
